Since launching in San Francisco, private equity firm JH Partners has invested in over two dozen consumer-focused companies, including Bare Escentuals, La Perla, and Kate Somerville. JH Partners was also a founding investor in Draper James, a Southern clothing and lifestyle brand, launched by actress Reese Witherspoon.

In addition to selling handbags and accessories, clothing, and home décor items, Draper James works to give back to its customers through a variety of initiatives. The company’s main community partner is Girls Inc., a nonprofit that empowers girls and young women through research-based programming focused on healthy living, academic enrichment, and life-skills development.
For its part, as title sponsor of the Girls Inc. Economic Literacy Program, Draper James supports financial literacy education on money management, economics, and philanthropy. The program is offered in Witherspoon’s hometown of Nashville.
Draper James has also invested in other Girls Inc. programs across the country. In recognition of this work, Girls Inc. honored Witherspoon and her company during its 2016 Celebration Luncheon in Los Angeles.
